Reuben Muhammad first accepted the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1989, and became a Registered Member of the Nation of Islam - Under the Leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan - in December, 1990.  He was born into an "Apostolic" Christian Family, in the city of Compton, California, and held to that Faith Tradition until the age of 24.

Mr. Muhammad graduated from Centennial High School and, after serving a term in the United States Navy and later being accepted as an Officer Candidate, spent one year at the University of Southern California as an Electrical Engineering major. It was at the end of his freshman year at USC that he discovered the Teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad.

After spending the following summer "feeding" from Videos of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, Mr. Muhammad made known to his ROTC Unit, in college, that he had embraced ISLAM as his faith, and could no longer, in good conscience, remain a member of the US Armed Forces.  As a result, he was examined and challenged "rigorously" as to his "sincerity".  At the end of his final "examination" by the Unit's Commanding Officer, he was asked, "So, here you are, with the World at your fingertips, and you're willing to give all that up...for NOTHING?"

Mr. Muhammad responded, "Sir, What does it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  My obligation is to MY GOD and MY PEOPLE, and I don't see how I can fulfill that Obligation being part of this military."

The Commanding Officer did not have an answer for that...and soon concluded the "interview".  The rest, as they say, is History.  Mr. Muhammad was, soon after, released from military service with an Honorable Discharge, and began devoting his Life to being a Student and Helper of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, and has not "looked back" since then.

When asked if he has any regrets about the Path that he chose, Mr. Muhammad simply answered, "Not One."

Mr. Muhammad continues to strive to be an Effective Helper in the Cause of the Liberation and Elevation of the Black Man and Woman in America, under the Leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, and is in no way interested in "retiring".

"For what?", he asked, "This is my reason for Living.  Yes, it's difficult at times...sometimes very difficult; but, by Allah's Grace, I refuse to turn back!  Where else would I go?  What else would I do?  There is only one way to 'retire' from the Purpose for which God Calls you into existence..."

Mr. Muhammad currently resides with his Family in the state of North Carolina.
